Frequently asked questions

Does a container home need a building permit?

A container placed temporarily and movable is generally not treated as a permanent building. If it is fixed to a permanent foundation or used as a full-time residence, check with the local municipality or sub-district office under the Building Control Act. We can prepare drawings for the application. See our blog article for details.

Do container homes get hot, and what insulation do you use?

A bare steel container in the sun gets very hot, so our homes are insulated on the walls and roof with PU foam or isowall panels, combined with a raised shade roof and air conditioning. That keeps them comfortable in the Thai climate. Insulation thickness can be chosen to suit your budget.

How long does a container home last?

With rust protection, a fresh coat of anti-rust paint every <<FILL>> years, and the container raised off the ground so water cannot pool, the steel structure lasts <<FILL>> years or more. Homes near the sea, as in Pattaya, should be checked for rust more often than inland.

What kind of foundation is needed?

Temporary worker housing can sit on concrete blocks or pads at 4-6 points under the corners. For a permanent home we recommend concrete piers or beams to an engineer's design. The ground must be levelled before delivery day.

Can you deliver to other provinces and how long does it take?

We deliver nationwide by trailer and export to Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar. After the build is finished, delivery within the eastern region takes about <<FILL>> days and to distant provinces about <<FILL>> days. Transport is priced by distance and number of units.
