Does an office container get hot even with air conditioning?
Our office containers are insulated on the walls and roof before the air-con goes in. A 20ft office needs roughly a <<FILL>> BTU unit to stay cool for 2-4 people. If it sits in full sun all day, we recommend adding a raised shade roof to cut heat and electricity costs.
How long does it take to build an office container?
A standard 20ft office with air-con takes about <<FILL>> days. A 40ft unit, or one with partitions and a toilet, takes about <<FILL>> days from design sign-off and deposit. If we have a suitable container in the yard it can be faster.
Can it run on a normal household supply? How many amps?
Yes, it runs on 220 V single phase. Each office comes with a consumer unit, breakers, sockets and lighting; you just connect the feed from the meter on site. Expect to need about <<FILL>> amps depending on the number of air-con units and appliances.
Do I need a concrete slab before placing the container?
A full slab is not necessary, but the ground must be level and firm. We recommend concrete blocks or pads at 4-6 points under the corners so the container sits slightly off the ground, preventing standing water and rust underneath. Our team can advise on placement before delivery.
Can you add a toilet inside an office container and what does it cost?
Yes, either a toilet inside a 20ft unit or a partitioned bathroom in a 40ft unit, complete with WC, basin and plumbing, for about ask on LINE extra. You will need a water supply and drain connection on site.
